A steep and unsafe access to the house from the road was a priority to fix.

The next task was to create an interesting space out of a long back garden with not a lot happening.

They installed a generous deck for entertaining, leading down from the house onto a repaired lawn.

Wide garden beds along the fence line ensure plants can be layered for interest and become well established.

A simple board walk leads to a children’s garden and utility area. It’s a clever touch to draw the eye down the garden too. Screening the play equipment was necessary for this family.

The substantial planting beds right up to the walkway offer lush planting opportunities. 

By planning ahead, when it’s time for the play equipment to go, the area can be turned into food production or perhaps a secret garden.

Creative design gives the appearance of the back area being made wider by dividing it into distinct spaces.

The newly created outdoor area “works” for the whole family, and even part finished it already looks beautiful. This design is a winner!
