Luxe Services - The Luxe Gardens Lowdown

Luxe Elite

The entire site to be included in the design is no bigger than 50m x 50m (approx.) Please contact Luxe Gardens to discuss working with bigger areas.

The fees include both landscape and planting designs for this site

First payment / Deposit

A $500 deposit is required to secure Luxe Gardens services.

On receipt of the deposit, the client will be sent a detailed questionnaire to guide planning, decisions and discussion. An onsite consultation will then be arranged to talk through the questionnaire and further discuss client needs. During this visit Luxe Gardens will carry out a comprehensive site assessment including measure-up of the area to be developed.

Second payment $1000

On receipt of this payment a second on-site visit / client consultation will be arranged. At this visit a Mood Board and initial concept sketch will be presented to the client to make sure Luxe Gardens is moving in the right direction.

If necessary, a 2nd and final concept sketch will be presented to the client at a 3rd consultation.

Final payment $1000

On receipt of this payment, the last phase of the Elite Service will be completed. Luxe Gardens will present the client with an original hand-drawn final design. This 2-dimensional plan will be accurately scaled, high-quality with comprehensive detail. The final plans will be suitable to build the garden yourself, or to hand to a professional builder/ landscaper/ nursery to do the work on your behalf.

Interruption of Service

If the client is unable to continue with the full service, Luxe Gardens will not refund payments. Luxe Gardens will fulfil their obligations as per the payment-related schedule in the description above.

If Luxe Gardens is unable to continue with the full service, the client will be refunded for the work paid for but not completed.

NOTE: These services exclude land surveying. Steep sites will be carefully considered during the design process but may need extra consultation for structural safety during landscaping and planting. We do not cover council laws, building permissions, or specialized knowledge for structures like retaining walls and drainage. Clients are responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards and local regulations. Luxe Gardens is not liable for work done by the client or their contractors.

Luxe Lite

Each site to be designed is no bigger than 10m x 10m (approx.)

The fees include both landscape and planting designs for the same site

The full fee due is $500 per site, with a discount fee of $450 for further designs on the same site.

First payment / Deposit

A $200 deposit is required to secure Luxe Gardens services.

On receipt of the deposit, the client will be sent a detailed questionnaire to guide planning and decisions. The client will be asked to develop their own Mood Board to guide the designer.

A first site visit will then be arranged to fully discuss the questionnaire and Mood Board and further discuss client needs. During this visit Luxe Gardens will carry out a comprehensive site assessment including a measure-up of the area to be developed.

Second payment

$100 is payable before a second on-site visit / client consultation. At this visit an initial concept sketch will be presented to the client to make sure Luxe Gardens is moving in the right direction.

If necessary, a 2nd and final concept sketch will be presented to the client at a 3rd consultation.

Final payment $200

On receipt of this payment, the last phase of the Luxe Lite Service will be completed. Luxe Gardens will present the client with an original hand-drawn final design. This 2-dimensional plan will be accurately scaled, high-quality with comprehensive detail. The final plans will be suitable to build the garden yourself, or to hand to a professional builder/ landscaper/ nursery to do the work on your behalf.

If Luxe Gardens is unable to continue with the full service, the client will be refunded for the work paid for but not completed.

Luxe by Mail

Completed client questionnaires, photos and/or videos are to be submitted to Luxe Gardens for consideration. Approximate measurements of the site (including slope gradients) must be included with the return of the questionnaire. Should Luxe Gardens agree to the work, an initial online consultation may be required at no cost to the client.

Luxe by Mail can take the form of Luxe Elite or Luxe Lite services. Terms and Conditions as per those services also apply to Luxe by Mail.

The final design will be scaled hand-drawn plans of a high quality with comprehensive detail. The final plans will be suitable to build the garden yourself, or to hand to a professional builder/ landscaper/ nursery to do the work on your behalf.

Plans and designs will be sent by courier to the client or scanned through electronically at no cost to the client.

NOTE: These services do NOT include professional knowledge of council laws, restrictions and requirements, building permission or knowledge of structures such as but not limited to retaining walls, drainage and other features that will require professional specialist knowledge. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that all works are done to the standards required by their local council and bylaws. Luxe Gardens does not take responsibility for any work that is done by the client or people engaged to do the works.

In-Person Consultations

Payment is required at the time of booking. Bookings cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled consultation will not be refunded.

Site visits to clients are within the Wellington (New Zealand) region. There are no travel costs to consultations within 20 mins drive of the Designer’s home. Distances of more than 20 mins travel may incur a $20 fee per 20 minutes extra, or part thereof. The client will be informed if this is likely. Site visits to locations beyond Wellington are to be agreed and travel costs may be incurred at $45 per hour or part thereof.

Luxe Online

Payment is required at the time of booking the on-line consultation. Bookings not cancelled 24 hours in advance of the scheduled consultation will not be refunded.

The client must have access to and be able to operate Zoom or Teams. Phone calls are offered at the same fee, but online face-to-face is preferred.

Luxe Learning

Landscaping Design and Planting Design courses are offered separately.

Payment must be received in full before your place on the course is confirmed. If you require a payment plan, please ask.

A 10% discount is offered for delegates attending a second course.

If there is a waiting list, you will be advised as soon as possible if a space becomes available.

Course materials belong to Luxe Gardens and cannot be shared with anyone not attending the course.

Cancellations 14 days before the start date of the course – 100% refund.
Cancellations up to 7 days before the course starts – 50% refund
Cancellations within 2 days of the start date – no refund

These cancellation fees also apply to last minute bookings made within the 2 weeks prior to the course start date.

Should Luxe Gardens need to cancel the course/s before it starts there is a 100% refund. If cancelled part way through, refunds will be in proportion to remaining sessions.

Force Majeure – in situations beyond the control of Luxe Gardens, including pandemics, there is no refund. Luxe Gardens will try wherever possible to make up the remaining classes at a later date. This may require relocating to a new venue.

If after the first session, the course is not what you were expecting a 100% refund is guaranteed on the proviso that Luxe Gardens is informed in writing by email within 24 hours of the first session ending. Reasons are not required but are welcomed.

Luxe Workshops

Luxe Workshops are free for all Luxe Elite and Luxe Lite clients.

For other attendees payment must be received in full before your place on the course is confirmed. If you require a payment plan, please ask.

A 10% discount is offered for returning delegates attending further workshops.

If there is a waiting list, you will be advised as soon as possible if a space becomes available.

Course materials belong to Luxe Gardens and cannot be shared with anyone not attending the workshop

Cancellations 14 days before the start date of the workshop – 100% refund
Cancellations up to 7 days before the workshop – 50% refund
Cancellations within 2 days of the event – no refund

These cancellation fees also apply to last minute bookings made within the 2 weeks prior to the course start date.

Should Luxe Gardens need to cancel the workshop/s there is a 100% refund

Force Majeure – in situations beyond the control of Luxe Gardens, including pandemics, there is no refund if the course has to be cancelled. Luxe Gardens will try wherever possible to make up the interrupted workshops/relocate/re-set a new date.

If the workshop is not to your liking a 100% refund is available on the proviso that Luxe Gardens is informed in writing by email within 24 hours of the first session finishing. A valid reason and constructive suggestions for future would be welcomed – but not essential.

Luxe Loops

Garden visits and social events after courses are popular and a highlight of many students. They are encouraged and facilitated by Luxe Gardens, but it is up to the attendees to organise dates and events and make the Loops happen. They are not compulsory and not everyone may want co-students to visit their own garden. When visiting a home, please agree to any requests by the host eg no children (particularly if the site is dangerous), no smoking etc. There are no fees for Luxe Loops! But a bit of cash for a coffee at an event would probably be a good idea.

Luxe Gardens provides garden design services, including consultations and site visits and educational courses, for informational and planning purposes only. While we aim to offer accurate, professional guidance, we are not liable for any damage, loss, or issues resulting from the use or implementation of our designs, advice, or recommendations—whether carried out by you or third-party contractors. This includes but is not limited to plant health, structural changes, or site alterations. All services are provided "as is," and their use is at your own risk.

All images on this website, including those provided by Squarespace and those personally supplied by Luxe Gardens, are protected by copyright. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of any images is strictly prohibited without prior written permission.
